چکیده

This paper presents HoloVizio true 3D display technology, and its real life implementations, the HoloVizio display models from Holografika. Our patented technology uses a specially arranged array of optical modules and a holographic screen. Each point of the holographic screen emits light beams of different color and intensity to various directions. The light beams generated in the optical modules hit the screen points in various angles and the holographic screen makes the necessary optical transformation to compose these beams into a perfectly continuous 3D view. With proper software control, light beams leaving the pixels propagate in multiple directions, as if they were emitted from the points of 3D objects at fixed spatial locations. We describe the 10 Mpixel desktop display and the 50Mpixel large-scale system. We cover the real-time control issues at high pixelcount systems with the HoloVizio software environment, give solutions for displaying various kinds of content, including 3D scenes from existing computer applications, 3D CAD models and natural content. We also describe concrete 3D applications developed in the frame of European projects.

Concept of True 3d Visualization in Driving Simulation with the System

We examined the possibilities of applying true 3D visualization in driving simulation. Today state of the art driving simulator architectures are based on stereoscopic technologies. These systems are projecting two images, one is appropriate for the viewer's left eye and one for the right eye. The image separation is implemented with different types of special glasses (polarization-based, shutt...

Real-time 3D light field transmission

Although capturing and displaying stereo 3D content is now commonplace, information-rich light-field video content capture, transmission and display are much more challenging, resulting in at least one order of magnitude increase in complexity even in the simplest cases. We present an end-to-end system capable of capturing and real-time displaying of high-quality light-field video content on va...

Real 3D increases perceived depth over anaglyphs but does not cancel stereo-anomaly

Background: About 30% of the population has difficulties detecting the sign and the magnitude of binocular disparity in the absence of eye movements, a phenomenon called stereo-anomaly. The stereo-anomaly tests so far are based on disparity only (e.g. red–green stereograms), which means that other depth cues cannot be used and even provide conflicting depth information. Objective: Here we inves...

Design and Manipulation 3D Imaging System by using Photodiode Grid

Introduction: Radiation imaging is one of the applicable methods in diagnostic medicine and nondestructive testing for industrial applications. In nondestructive 3D imaging, in addition to the radiation source, there is a requirement for a suitable detection system, data acquisition system, mechanical sections for moving objects, reconstruction algorithm and finally a computer for processing an...

Augmented Reality Visualization for Laparoscopic Surgery

We present the design and a prototype implementation of a three-dimensional visualization system to assist with laparoscopic surgical procedures. The system uses 3D visualization, depth extraction from laparoscopic images, and six degree-of-freedom head and laparoscope tracking to display a merged real and synthetic image in the surgeon’s video-see-through head-mounted display. We also introduc...
